brumtom
Hello, We have 1 hen who is looking a little under the weather, she seems more dosile and less active than usual. She is 9 months old. The other hen is fine. It has been rather cold the past few day- much colder than she has experienced before. However she did have a wet and white poo today. Her tail is a little droopy too at times. Its only been today and a little yesterday. She has not layed an egg for 3 days earlier. She has also fluffed herself up so she is a bit bigger too. She is eating but not scratching around like she normally does. Is she just cold? Is this something to worry about? Are we being overly worried? We have read a bunch of posts- all of which has worried us its worms or worse! Please help .... any advice would be great. Thank you. wez
They can be a worry can't they? The poo spectrum is rather large and theres a good post in the chickens section I think with photos of the normal range which might help. Maybe the weather has unsettled her a little but keep an eye on her, make sure she's eating and drinking and that her poo looks more like its usual form but hopefully somebody more knowledgeable than me will pop up with words of wisdom. Good luck
brumtom
Thank you. She seems fine again today. Still no egg but I have touched her tum and I don't think she is egg bound. I think she probably was cold and we were being extreme and panicked. We will keep an eye on her over the coming days.
