Red Mite - another option for control??

These have been around for at least 3 years 'cos I researched them for my dissertation - I believe Chicken Vet started selling them first.


It seems they are much more sensitive to red mite treatment than red mite themselves so you can only really use them in an untreated coop - no red mite sprays, diatom powder etc.


It's good that once the red mite disappear, the predator mites lose their food supply and so they die off too, but it does mean you'll then have to start preventative measures to ensure they don't come back.
