Monty14
Hi My oldest girl Mabel (6 1/2 yrs old) has started with pretty laboured, whistling sound breathing. She is fine in every other way - eating, drinking, good red comb, active with the others although she does sit and rest more. She's still be laying a couple of eggs a week but today I really noticed her throat sucking in and out and heard her raspy breathing. Is this a case of old age catching up with her? Beantree
Could simply be age Monty, but she may be overweight and worth checking her throat for cankers. Some of ours also develop a pollen allergy this time of year. She's doing well to still be laying at that age though!
