What have you all been making...part two...

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to make Maui from Moana. His body shape is all wrong, I'm building up his shoulders and it's a bit hard doing tattoos but I'm excited to see how things go. IMG_20200328_135635.thumb.jpg.b3c13ec05b6795c56936840aff31fd33.jpg

This is how he ended up. He's very patchy and colours are all over the place. Before I do any more I'm going to learn how to do hands and feet. That's something I really need to master first. I've seen a couple of good tutorials on YouTube. Also I got very bored with the tattoos and used sharpies! 😳

No idea who Maui is but he looks fun.  Good trick with the tattoos.  Love all the detail, such a lot of work.  Well done.

He's a South Sea Island demi god for all the Polynesian including Maoris and Hawaians - featured in Disney Moana film.  Which was very funny - DD bought me the DVD for Christmas last year.  Looks great Patsylabby.

Made some gifts for a pregnant friend who loves bunnies. Both have a rattle ball in them.

Thanks both!

Both patterns are free by the way. The big bunny is by Jess Huff, who has many patterns like this one, including the fox and hippo I made before. I can really recommend her patterns.

I've just finished Mr Featherstone. My latest needle felting project. Screenshot_20200527_114009.thumb.jpg.b12b007b19dcb1fc636d0ab3f4beb5e6.jpgI've also given him a back story, he lives in Metroland in the 50s and commutes into London. He loves doing crosswords on the train and he did a stint at Bletchley Park during the war but of course that is a secret.

Impressive love his backstory.  Is he married with kids? 😁

Not your next door neighbour then!

As someone who can only make a mess I am in total awe of you creative Omleteers!

We have turfed out the loft over the last couple of days and I have half a pillowcase of wool...looks like its clean but just needs carding and spinning/felting. Happy to post to any of you who can use it? PM me if you'd like it.

Unwashed wool is great for preventing blisters on your feet! Just wrap a little wad around the place you tend to get blisters and it’s walking transformed!

Goodness you have been busy.  Love the bunnies.  Why do I think the gentleman looks like David Tennant at the moment!

Do we all make elderflower champagne.  Since we have move we have at least four bushes to get elderflower from.  A little bit of research and hopefully in a month well have some elderflower champagne

Delicious! Just remember to keep letting off a very little of the pressure in the bottles otherwise it will explode - it makes an unholy mess 😫

It has to be the perfect collection otherwise if one flower head is slightly over, it can taint the batch.  But we've made it several times.  The last one that we did was, um, very inebriating!  Don't know why, but it was!  I didn't complain - my husband did.  This year we've made cordial instead.  We want to leave the flower heads for berries as my husband likes to make pontack sauce - the longer you leave it, the better it gets.  A bit like balsamic vinegar.
