Fred's campaign

Recommended Posts

...and it's still there, Egluntine  .

We've got a pretty good list of possible future moderators and everyone on it will be considered carefully WHEN the time arises  . The problem is that the team works so well as it is at the moment. There's always someone around if there's a problem, you all know who to contact if you see anything which isn't right and everyone on the team acts quickly when they need to. Don't think we've forgotten those of you who have said that you'd like to be moderators though. As things stand, we really don't need any additional mods - at the moment. This may well change as the forum gets bigger but the team's coping really well now and I must take this opportunity to thank them all for their hard work and support. They are a cracking team :D .

Don't forget Fred that some of us lurk, under the radar, with our online status hidden, just to lull would-be spammers and trouble makers into a false sense of security, before zapping with the full force of our mod-machete......

I know, but still, sometimes, there is no mods, next time I willl get a screenshot

Fred, none of us can be here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week  . It's just not possible but the important thing is that things are dealt with quickly and I think you'll find that they are. If anyone makes a complaint about a posting, it is removed from the forum. Any bad language is automatically filtered out by the word censor. I think you'll find this forum is very well moderated and safe for all.

If you're worried about the spammers registering - don't. They can't post on the forum because no one who registers can post until I activate them. I only activate the genuine users and delete the spammers very quickly as I get an email notification for everyone who registers on the forum. OK so you may see some names on the memberlist for a while as I have other commitments but I do try to keep on top of the situation. The dodgy new members are only a danger to you if you click their www links and I've said again and again that it's not a good idea to do this. If you don't click these, they are completely safe left on the memberlist until I get round to removing them.

:doh::oops::(:shock:

That sums up what im thinking

and yes I think you would make a good mod :)

I don't believe that I am sooooo stupid (no comments please).

I've read your signature several times, and I thought you meant a real mod as in mods and rockers, the who, my generation, brighton beach, scooters wiv mirrors, parkas wiv hoods and all that .... Like I wanted to be a dude like Mott the Hoople (Ian Hunter ruled, well in Croydon anyway). Not that I ever went anwhere near Croyden. I don't even know where it is to be honest, but whatever.

And I didn't have a scooter, just an old ex police LE Velcette. and an army coat. But I did have a parka for a while. with a number 7 scrawled on the back becos that was Barry Sheen's number and I saw him at Oulton Park in the transat trophy when we used to crawl under the fence to see the races for free. and I didn't like Pete Townshend very much becos I saved up for ages for a guitar and he just smashed them up.

Anyway, I will certainly support your campaign to be a mod if you give me a go on your scooter - but you have to have the side panels off and all the inside bits painted different colours.

and its got to be a Vespa

and Ian Hunter was from the midlands - but they played croyden before they went to the States I think, or before they hit the charts or maybe they didn't know where Croydon is either. But they must have done becos he sang about it in Saturday Gigs

and its got to have loads of headlights, and a rack on the back with millions of aerials.

:lol: I was a mod in the early 80s Richard! Cool 8) . The music and clothes for that sort of mod are much better than this sort of mod too  .

Kate, you mean I don't have to put on my parka and surround myself with wing mirrors (all the better to see spammers sneaking up from behind  ) before I log on each time  I knew I'd been going wrong somewhere :oops::oops:

As for the got to be good looking thing, well I'll be heaps better looking now that I'm not logging on in a smelly old parka :D:D .
