Hello! Haven't been around much lately so have just seen this  So pleased to hear ( no pun intended) that you are ok. Hope it is a total success. Enjoy your recovery. Take it easy! Ax

Got the dressing out today and it seems to have worked - everything is SOOOO LOUD  . It'll take a while for my brain to readjust and filter out the unnecessary noises.

Things that are so loud it's almost painful - traffic, the kettle boiling, opening a drawer of cutlery, toilet flushing, Riley barking, doors shutting.

Went to a choir practice tonight - had to stuff some tissue in my ear  .

Glad to hear the surgery was a success :D

My brother has had problems with his left ear his whole life and they actually removed the whole organ a few years ago so he's now completely deaf on one side. He said the same about background noise when he had a hearing aid fitted but it does settle down.

So glad it went well for you.

I hope it doesn't take too long for your ear to settle down and that things aren't too loud for too long.

Glad things are going well, the human brain is a clever little device, you will soon get used to our noisy world, although peace and quiet is a great thing too.

My dad moaned about the birds shouting when he first had a hearing aid fitted

Great news. Perhaps you need ear muffs until you adapt - gradually lift them higher so they end up looking like antennae! oops sorry quiet whistle! :shh:
