You know it's Christmas when...

Recommended Posts

I;ve ordered some lights from Amazon - solar ones for the chicken house. Wont tell OH till they are up. I am waiting for the email to say " your order of solar fairy lights has been despatched - please delete email before the old man gets his carcass out of bed and grumbles about the fact the hens dont need fariy lights!!!"

Sorry but they do - christmas is for hens too.

My hens have christmas lights up all winter! It makes my mornings a LOT easier, without all the grumbling about it being dark...

Christmas themed socks and knickers. The only shame is that unlike scarves and gloves you don't get to display them. Or at least, maybe you shouldn't, I think that bit of manners passes some people by.

Today I have on Nordic knickers and Santa socks just so I could post that. Is it alliteration, something like that anyway.

What a wonderful mental picture I have of you, PL  And, yes, its alliteration!

Oh gosh yes - OH's birthday is at the beginning of January. Rubbish cards by then too, it's all valentines day cards. Our anniversary is in February - Mother's day cards then! I have to go when there isn't an event in the summer to get a decent card for anyone.

Farmers market tomorrow - looking forward to some goodies!!!

It's Christmas when - shops have special cheeses with rum and cinnamon!

We bought venison meatballs (had them this evening - oh yum). We bought some goat meat. Some blue cheeses and some runny cheeses. And a couple of pretty photos in frames. One was an owl for my mum's present. One was a gorgeous wild flower meadow. A young lad, so we had a chat with him. Some bread - one watercress and cheese and the other sundried tomato (eaten some and froze the rest) and it was delicious. Not sure of the method of baking them, very moist and looks like they'd been cooked in a round cake tin? Also some stollen - had that from the ladies last year too and it's so yummy. Slightly disappointed as it has been bigger in the past but the weather wasn't exactly brilliant. There's a very nice veg stall, but we didn't get anything - fridge full of veg!

There was a lady selling patchwork quilts - I did tell her they were very pretty. They looked laptop sized and cot sized. And some other things she had. Quite a variety although we thought someone would be selling wreaths - nada. Christmas trees though. Ooh forgot - hubby bought some cherry chutney! Not sure about that. The guy said they had recently planted several acres of apricots - oh yum!!!! So next year apricot chutney for me?

Did you buy the young lad?!

:lol::lol: NO! Besides hubby was with me! And the young lad had his other half with him. No I didn't let hubby buy her either. Well fair's fair!

Oh poor Daphne - a little surprise for you then!!! Sounds lovely though.

I love the centrepieces with candles - my friend's mum is German and used to be a florist so I used to get some very pretty things as my Christmas present!

Stuff piling up at work from grateful pts and a big sign telling staff not to open them and eat as not enough to go round. We have got thro 3 tins Quality street several tins of biscuits - spose to be a health centre. :shameonu:

The receptionist has put any poinsettas in the nurses room as we have one thats been going for 3 yrs and is just going red again. She tells pts recp kill them and the nurses seem to be better with them. I will have a window sill of them. Blooming things die at home.

You go out for lunch in a pub and cannot move for tables of works Xmas lunches....I work for myself so have forgotten what this is like

Your neighbours harangue you (good naturedly) for not having any outdoor lights, we seem to be letting the side down

You get to work in record-quick time because the roads are empty :dance::dance:

I don't know if it's because everyone else has finished for xmas or whether they're all on xmas do's and have left their cars at home, but my usual mile-and-a-bit of crawling traffic to get to the motorway was nowhere to be seen this morning :D

I haven't slept for a week and it's not xmas day already :anxious: ?
