The Dogmother
Does anyone on here know 'owt about managing holiday lets, tax implications and whether it is a good idea to have a holding company? Any/all advice and experience gratefully received
Valkyrie
Sorry DM. Perhaps have a word with English Country Cottages and see what they suggest. Dunno if this is any good? https://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/resources/owner-advice/managing-rentals/a-1-32/
The Dogmother
Thanks K, will have a read of that. This was my first port of call, so I will look around and see what advice is available, but personal recommendations are always worth so much more. clucker1
We used Hoseasons when we let a cottage, if that's the kind of info you are after. At the time they had the highest commission rates, but they were excellent.
The Dogmother
Thanks, but I don't think that agents will be involved.
soapdragon
Often holiday letting companies have a special section on their website for owners rather than 'bookers' so might be worth looking at some websites? I really recommend Helpful Holidays' although they are west country based they are a wonderful agency to deal with from a booking point of view. There is also Sykes, who are pretty much country wide. Pearls007
We rent out our former granny annexe as a holiday let. We use Holiday Lettings (which is linked to Trip Advisor) and Owners Direct.
