SarahGlymond
My poor franny died very unexpectedly this evening. As far as I know she was happy and fine running round the garden yesterday morning she went to bed fine. Husband went to check on them and clean the best box like we do every morning and said she was at the back of the coop. This is quite normal as both my chooks like to sunbathe in the morning as that is when the coop gets the sun. We then went to church and then straight to my mums for lunch so out most of the day we I know feel so guilty for. She was still at the back of the coop when I got back so I went out to check on her she did a really runny greeny poo just before getting up her bum was very messy which it wasn't yesterday. It took all her energy to come to me then she died in my arms . Very sad. Left with 1 lonely chook
mullethunter
So sorry to hear this but lovely that she came to you at the end. I'd get a couple of friends for your remaining girl if I were you.
SarahGlymond
I want to wait to see if Elizabeth is ok we are gonna fully disinfect the coop tomorrow just in case of disease but so far Lizzie is fine but then so was Frances. It was just so sudden if she had been ill it might have been easier to take but we don't have any answers at the moment just keep bursting into tears sounds silly but that chook got me through one of the most difficult times of my life she was a member of the family x

Luvachicken
Sorry to read about your chicken. It's always sad but at least she didn't appear to suffer for a long time and came to you when she needed you most.
