dawniemegan77
HI everyone I am really worried about one of my ginger nut rangers, she has had a dirty vent for two days, I have cleaned it, she now is fluffed up in a corner and has bright green pooh, I have never seen this before, I have had them 2 years and clean them everyday, they have apple cider vinegar, wormed using flubenvet and have greens and fruit every other day. Can anyone advise me on what could be the problem? Many thanks Dawn
gavclojak
Has she free ranged recently? Would she have had access to any slug pellets?
dawniemegan77
Hi There are no slug pellets in their side of the garden, could it be her kidneys? I had a conure who had the same symptoms and it was his kidneys. I have searched the internet and it just comes up with slug pellets, our garden is split into two and they are on one side and only venture into the other side when I open the gate and I put them back but I have had pellets down Can she get better? I wont forgive myself if its the pellets Thank you Dawn
gavclojak
There was a thread on here a while ago with the same thing and it was slug pellets that's why I suggested it. I would have thought she would be very unwell by now if that was the case. How is she today?

Cat tails
If you have the feeling she really isn't well, I would take her to the vet.
dawniemegan77
HI I am going to ring them tomorrow Thank you again Dawn
gavclojak
Don't beat yourself up, it may be viral, hens are pretty good at hiding any illnesses until they are pretty unwell. See how she is in the morning but if she is still unwell then it may mean a trip to the vets as cat tails suggests. The fact she is still eating is a good sign, when any of my girls have died they have always stopped eating apart from the last girl who died of old age. You can give her a little bit of a wash to clear her vent iif she is up to it but I would see how she is in the morning and review it then
dawniemegan77
HI Many thanks for your replies, I didn't expect her to be here this morning but she came out of her coop straight away and I can only find 2 spots of the green pooh, she is wondering about, she still keeps huddling up in a corner but a lot brighter thank goodness. Thanks again Dawn
