Alis girls
I have read the blurb on these on Omlet - I have year old hen who's healthy looking and has gone from laying ok to laying lashes. Shes lost some feathers - I'm worried as other sites mention infection and had to dispatch her sister a few weeks back as she had prolapse. I have increase calcium and vitamins - other sites suggest all sorts of nasties - Omlet seems to imply that the laying of lashes isnt abnormal. Any ideas please? gavclojak
A few of my girls have laid lashes, they have always remained healthy after. I assumed mine laid them as they are ex commercial girls who's ladie bits have been a tad over used but I have read it is generally nothing to be concerned about. Lewis
They're not 'normal' but not rare so don't worry too much. I think there could be many reasons causing it so just keep an eye on her, if she's older it could be that she'll stop laying this year.
