Yucky roosting bars

Recommended Posts

Despite scrubbing I cannot get rid of staining- in places its like dry clay. I tried everything even sodium bicarb. The drinkers also get mould which I scrub out daily. Any ideas oh great ones?

All my drinkers and feeders go in the dishwasher each week, with a dollop of Viratec P powder

Try Barkeeper's Friend on the roosting bars.

I soak my roosting bars in a wheelie bin with an anti calcium liquid (anti limescale) and they come up a dream. Not sure if you can buy this in the UK as coming from Devon we had soft water and no limescale problems so I never needed it but readily available here in France.

Possibly as I do use anticalcaire in the kettle, I also remember reading a tip about bicarb and vinegar on the Yukky  bits and letting it foam and leaving for about half an hour then rinse off.

Showing my age here but used to get similar called Vim or Ajax both powder forms.   Similar to Bar Keepers friend.   I remember doing our bath and sink at home with these.
