LittleBean
Hello there, I am about to get a chicken coop (go-up) with a run extension, and three chickens. I have wanted this for a really long time, and I feel like I have done a sufficient amount of research to be prepared. However, I am suddenly really worried that I won’t be able to give them a good quality or life, or keep them safe as we live in a very fox dense area, in the middle of London. I have a fox that regularly comes to sunbathe in my garden (I chased her off for the first time yesterday, she looked so betrayed!) I have ordered paving stones and a fox watch. The chickens will not free roam- I am worried about them free roaming even when I am in the garden actually! I feel like I have/ will do as much as I can. I guess my question is, how do you enjoy your flock, when they are so vulnerable? Does it get easier as you get used to it? How do you balance quality of life with safety? Any advice greatly appreciated!
