Omlet go auto door battery issue

Recommended Posts

Hello! My omlet go up auto door just arrived today. I set it up on (reputable) batteries and got it working this afternoon. I just went outside to hook it up to the app and the battery is reading as 64% even though it was 100% just a few hours ago. I didn't even have the wifi connected, so I'm confused as to how it has drained so much battery so quickly. At this rate the batteries won't last 24hrs!

I will check tomorrow, and am also looking into extension cords and waterproof boxes to make it possible to hook it up to mains outside, but is this short battery life a common thing? The website indicates I should get at least 2 months!

Hi there, can I ask if you had any resolution to this problem as we have the exact issue- installed the auto door yesterday with brand new batteries and within a few hours down to 64% and this morning down to 25%!

I noticed in the days following that the battery power actually increased - it ended up getting up to over 80% so I'm guessing there's some sort of issue with the battery level reader. I ended up running an extension cable so I don't have to worry about it.

I have also been having issues with battery life span. The first set of new batteries lasted less than a week. I tried making changes within the app so it drains less energy, but still, I am about to change it to my 4th sets of new batteries in less than 2 months. I cannot run an extension cord, but considering switching to solar powered. Did anyone figured how to extend the battery life to what Omelet sells it as? It feels stressful and wasteful to have batteries dies so fast and would love to improve this system. Thank you!
