toastedblue
at the moment the Sussex is brooding, and won't get off the nest no matter what the others do, so I've decided to get a couple of hatching eggs for her to sit on. Thing is, where can I put her while she's sitting as, at the moment, the others will just climb on top of her to lay thanks for any help
chickenlickin
Do you know of anyone who has a rabbit hutch they dont use at the moment. I am assuming also, that should the eggs hatch, you will need a separate safe place to keep mother and chicks out of harms way of the other hens. Correct me if I am wrong! I made a large run for my rabbit out of several metal extending fireguards.
bronze
Also if you hatch a male do you have a home for it?
toastedblue
just been doing the math, and, if we get hatching eggs now by the time they hatch we will be going on hols 2 weeks later. from what I've read they need constant care for at least 4 weeks, something we can't arrange, so looks like Sussex will just have to get over it until next time thanks for the info oh, and we had thought about getting Welbar Bantams, which can be sexed at day
bronze
even sexed you would still have to do something with them. Probably best to wait til you're around though
