Not a clickable poll actually, but can I ask (as someone expecting her cube in two weeks who is now worried) how many of those who have leaking cubes had to assemble the cube themselves vs. those who had the cube assembled for them buy the nice people from Omlet?

Basically, does the manner of assembly affect the leaks at all? Or is it purely a design flaw?

I don't own a Cube (or an Eglu)

But after hearing about leaking Cubes for the first time yesterday, I spent quite a while trawling through the previous threads...

It appears that it was a hit or miss problem, as to whether your Cube was part of the batch that was affected. But judging by one of yesterdays posts it’s become obvious that some being delivered have still not been rectified.

I also gathered from the posts that it didn't matter whether it was assembled by an Omlet representative or by yourself, it was purely luck of the draw (or lack of it).

But the good news is that the fix they sent out to people seemed to fix most of the problems.

Hopefully someone with more personal experience will be along soon...

There are different kinds of leaks. There was a design flaw in early cubes that I understand was rectified by the fix.

But it is possible to get another tiny leak from one of the gaps, which I think is caused by the way the cube is fitted together, and the angle on which it stands on the ground. These only occur in torrential rain, but of course a steady drip-drip-drip soon creates an unpleasant puddle in the nest box.

Strangely, I had no problems at all with my original cube, but with the second one I have had to ram a bit of sponge in a certain gap which cured the problem immediately.
