Runny clear excrement...?

Recommended Posts

I was just changing the shape of the chickens' run (omlet netting) and I went to check all the chickens were in it... and couldn't find Daisy, odd because due to all she has been through she normally runs straight up to me...

I eventually found her in the last place I looked (you always do  ) the nest box...

I went to pick her up and give her a cuddle and there was an odd noise of watery stuff, I looked at her bottom (where her fluffy knickers would be if she and the others stopped pecking them off) and some quite thick clear goo type stuff ran down her bare bottom in bubbles...

She has already laid an egg today so I was doubting a softie etc, and she seemed fine all day, any ideas and anything I should do?

Thanks, and sorry for the long post  ...

Hello Eve,

Well, I'm not an expert, but as long as she's happy and eating and seems to be laying ok I wouldn't worry too much. Every now and again my chooks do the odd clear, or clear and white poo - hopefully someone will be along soon to tell us what this means - I'm sure it's just one of the many different potential types of chicken poo! :D
