Newbie in Norfolk Seeks Aylesburys!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone...!

Having had my Eglu for nearly a year now, housing my 3 beautiful little Bantam X hens (Sussex and laced Wyandottes), I've now got a desire for ducks!

Would love to have a few free-range Aylesbury's and have decided it might be a bit educational for the kids as well as me to hatch them as well... Also, the imprinting upon the ducklings might mean that they might follow the kids around and be less scared of each other!

Does anyone know of anywhere / person in the vicinity around Norwich that would have fertile eggs...? Am willing to travel anywhere in East Anglia, really, as I'm not sure how much to trust the postal service!

Please, any help would be much appreciated.

Ben

Good luck with your search for some eggs to hatch.

It may be ebtter to wait until early Spring though, eggs will have a better chance of being fertile then and also it will be easier to rear little ducklings through Spring and Summer.

Take a look at the Practical Poultry forum as there are many duck keepers and breeders over there.
