Boris70
Hi, I've planted runner beans and lettuces so far - at the correct times. Am I too late to plant anything else this year in time for harvesting? If not - any recommendations? Thanks
Karen & co.
According to the gardening column in our paper its a good time to plant dwarf beans now as they crop faster than runners, and will crop later when all the runners have finished I'm, pretty sure you can do salad crops most of the summer, karen x
Eyren
Hi, I've planted runner beans and lettuces so far - at the correct times. Am I too late to plant anything else this year in time for harvesting? If not - any recommendations? Thanks There's quite a bit of veg you can sow now for autumn harvesting - as well as the French beans suggested above, I've sown pak choi and Florence fennel in the garden plus sprouting broccoli in modules (to put in my allotment once the bed is cleared) At the end of this month I'll be sowing radicchio, winter spinach and spring cabbage (I'm experimenting with a simple moon-based calendar - it seems to be a good way of spreading out the seasons' tasks ) and when the courgettes are finished I'll use the space to grow winter salad under fleece
