peanut12
We've got 9 of our initial 10 ex-batts at school, as well as 3 Black Rocks who were added a month ago. Got a call from a parent on Thursday to say they have 2 'magpie' type hens that they have had for 2 months but aren't around enough for them and feel guilty, so we are taking them at school. By magpie, could they mean Sussex crosses? or is there a magpie variety that I don't know about?

bigmommasally
I've got a magpie hybrid. She lays lovely big eggs between 65 & 70grammes.
peanut12
that's them. Arrived safely today amidst the rain. They are about 20 weeks old, previous owner bought them for bottom of their aviary, but they are upsetting the other birds. Sounds like they've got a better deal with us anyway as they can free range all day.
