Single hen

Hi acquired 2 ducklings 2 weeks ago, one is about 5- 6 weeks old the other probably a bit younger, no previous expereince with ducks only chickens.

 

At the mo they are sleeping in an esky (cool box ) in the garage at night, but have started to need a bit more space ( or another esky!!)

 

My question is how long do I need to keep them inside they are no longer under a heat lamp, which I did for the first week. As we are in Northern Portugal, the temperatures at night are warmer here than the UK, but still chilly.

 

Also, want to build them a little pond, at the moment they swim in a paint roller tray, but its getting a bit small when they are both in there. How deep should it be, as to begin with will probably use a wine vat ( about 12 inches deep ) would this be OK?
