madchickenlady
I posted earlier in the week about my hen, Mini, who had swollen eyelids. I have her on a course of Tylan, and she is making improvements. However, my back garden is now awash in white feathers She seems better than she did before I started treating her, but is still a bit off colour. Her comb has shrunk back, she's not laying and just seems generally a bit grumpy. I have examined her for mites/lice, and can find nothing but have doused her in mite powder any way. Could she just be having a really early moult? She has had mycoplasma before, and I know that in times of stress the symptoms can reemerge. Olly
The shrunken comb, not laying etc would all tie in with a moult ... to be honest, I've never found mine moulted according to season anyway! So it could be that.
madchickenlady
Just an update...Mini is in moult We've found the tiny little quills of her new feathers poking through her skin She seems ok, just a little quiet, so we're making sure she gets lots of treats!
