Jac and Rory
What a wonderful place this is - I've learned so much from reading through the entries. I got my 4 black rocks on 6 Nov and first egg today (woweee) from Marbles, now 25 weeks. She begain crouching on Tue and I found her in the next box this morning (Sun) with fluffy knickers in the air and head down in the corner. Left her a while and came back to find a lovely large egg with double yolk. Shell was a bit thin at top and bottom (didn't bear up to much pressure) but I assume that may sort itself out in time and I should be patient? They have a cup of mixed grit in their run which does get eaten. I now have such high hopes for a lovely fresh egg on Christmas morning! Jools
I shouldn't worry too much as it can take a few eggs before they get into the swing of things. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas with scrambled eggs for breakfast here!
