ankerson
My beautiful Cotswold Legbar Jo has died and I'm not entirely sure why. Here's what happened: Day 1 - nasty black poo on her backside, and looking a little subdued. Normally she would bomb about all over the place. No egg today. Day 2 - Back to normal, laid one of her lovely blue eggs, wandering about with her friend Sam, eating normally. Day 3 - Lots more black poo, and seemed to be leaking watery discharge. 'Laid', if that's the right word, an egg with no shell. Drinking lots of water and off her food. Note to self to take her to the vets the next day. Day 4 - Dead in the Qube this morning. Died in the night, surrounded by her friends. The others all seem to be OK - no dirty bottoms, laying OK and eating fine. It's so sad as Jo was only 18 months old - had only seen one summer. She was such a lively little chicken, very chatty and friendly. I've put the others on Flubenvet to get rid of any worms, and I've disinfected the Qube, but I don't know what could have taken her so quickly. Vicki - Sam the Maran, Vyvyan the Sussex, Charlie the White Sussex RIP Jo, Harry, George
