Help both chickens gone broody?

Recommended Posts

Help! We are fairly new at hen keeping, only had Lotta and Lola our light sussex bantums, since February and they started laying in April. Think they have gone broody and barely been outside their house for 4 weeks now, thought they would eventually snap out of it but not yet. Starting to worry they may be ill or under the weather. No eggs now for 4weeks. All started when we had to confine them to their small ark house with attached small run as we had treated our lawn and did not want to risk the chickens eating any chemicals! My fault as forgot to collect the eggs one day as we had been out. They have been eating very little but we have managed to tempt them out at least once a day to eat a little and occasionally they have come out for a dustbath but one of the chickens seems must worse than the other and not sure she is now eating at all last couple of days and looking a bit sorry for herself. How can I make her snap out of it and what can I give them to perk them up a bit so egg laying can start again. Have taken to feeding them mainly corn over the last couple of days to see if that will buck them up as they were hardly touching the layers. Do they need a tonic or something? :anxious:(white chicken)(white chicken)
