Isabel
More questions from me - sorry! One day I will stop asking and hopefully start answering some Can 3 x 6-7 week old chicks travel in the same box - I'm pretty sure they're in the same pen at the moment but couldn't be 100% certain. It's a good sized box - or would they be better in their own, individual boxes. Guess I need to make them a dust bath. I've been reading old posts and think I'll grab an old tyre tomorrow. Can I put basket compost in it? Don't have any wood ash and no spare soil lying around - anyway, imagine soil will end up as a mud-bath before too long! Shall report back later as to what we come home with Thanks. Isabel
ISCA
Yes, that would be fine. I brought mine home in cat carriers, 3 in each, and they were fine. They settle down quickly and they were very quiet on the car journey home. As for dust baths, I use a cat litter tray with sand and diatom in it but they just eat the contents! One (my Buff Orp) dust bathes in soil when out of the run and in their free-range area. The others havn't bothered as yet.
