squidsin
I'm a bit worried by the amount of feathers my white pekin Nugget seems to be losing. She is eight months old - could it just be that she's moulting? I can't see any lice infestation on her and I've treated them all for red mite recently. If it's feather pulling, I've never caught either of the other two at it. Any ideas please?
snowcloud
Where is she loosing them? Moulting is very common and it's likely that is the problem. They will grow back. One of ours is almost bald at the moment, perfectly healthy other than the fact she has moulted feathers on her head at the moment. It might take a couple of months, but they will grow back. squidsin
She seems to be losing them all over - she's a very fluffy hen and I can't see any obvious bald spots.

squidsin
Thanks chuckymama. I just don't think it can be an infestation as why would it only be affecting her? Neither of the other two are losing feathers. Oh dear, I feel stressed about it!
