More than 1 house in WIR - chickens confused?

Hi,

 

Currently got one wooden house attached to my soon-to-be-finished WIR. This house can take 7 chooks. I might have the chance of obtaining a cube (fingers crossed I can persuade OH), which means loads more chickens. How would chickens 'sort' themselves if there are two houses? Will each one decide which one they fancy and stick to it? Will I end up with two chickens in one, and the other house stuffed to the rafters? I have attached picture of WIR. I'm thinking of 9 or 10 chickens if I could get the cube. Or I could use cube as main house, and block the wooden one off, and use that as a hospital/broody house/introductions house etc? OH is not going to be impressed! What started off as 'I just want 4 chickens' has spiralled (in his opinion) out of control :D
