fellsider
I have also been finding 10 - 12 dead bees a week the other side of the divider board. I have seen them getting underneath one way, but unable to get back. The problem seems to be a slight twist in the metal mesh floor, leaving a sloping gap which appears to be a very efficient clearer system. I noticed it on receipt of the hive and unscrewed the floor, flattened, and replaced, but the problem re-occured, and it is now much harder to repeat with 10 frames of bees and a couple of supers in use. It is not huge problem for me, more of an annoyance. If the divider board is well pushed down, it does close the gap, but it has popped back up in time for the next inspection. One day, I will attach a little bit of sponge to the bottom of the divider board just to soak up any inconsistencies in the mesh floor.
