sezra
I have had my chickens for nearly two months and I thought the pecking order was established. However, I think they might be shifting a bit and one of my girls (Jenny, Goldline) who was a very settled hen has been injured. It looks like her comb has been pecked as there was blood on it this morning. When i threw them in some meal worms this evening two of the other hens quite aggressively went for her and chased her off. There was none of this 'evil stare' thing, just straight forward attack! I also saw her squaring up with one of these hens this morning. I am quite surprised by this change in their behaviour and wondered if it is because I got them at POL so they are still maturing? I am also concerned that if there is a red spot on her comb the others may go for it again or is this just if its on their bodies? Thank you for your help.
