juliec
Hi everyone, i have a dilemma, Camila my skyline has never laid in the nest box she always lays in one particular area of the garden, is there anything i can do to encourage her to lay in the eglu? I should also say shes only actually been laying a couple of weeks and is at the lowest point in the pecking order so to speak. Any advice would be really welcomed thanks Julie
SJChick
Hi We got 2 new Silkie X Welsummers about 5 weeks ago. To start with they laid on top of a hay bale and they both laid there in the same place for a few weeks. They had a lovely little house of their own and a nice laying box but they didn't like it obviously. Last week they decided they would move in with the brown layers and Mr C and they seemed to have learned from them because now they are laying in the boxes. As she hasn't been laying for very long perhaps she will learn from the others. I think it's nice when they choose their own spot, but I know it doesn't suit everyone and it can be a right faff trying to find the eggs.
