Does this behaviour mean i might get my first egg?

Recommended Posts

My 4 bantams are approx 6-7 months old but no eggs to date.

I have been told not to expect any til spring however my red hampshire is really showing signs i think.

Ever since thursday she has been spending a lot of time in eglu (which is not normal for any of them unless weather is horrid). Any way she goes inside then every 10 mins or so she runs out runs around the run then back inside.

She is also pulling all the hay out of nesting box which has never happened before.

Am i reading toom much into this? When might one come?

Expectant mother

As the hens are bantams the comb is very small. My welsummer and hampshire both have a comb that is red, however the one with teh redest comb is not acting bonkers.

Does not sit when approached however i did manage to stroke her teh other day. But it may be sometime til they let me touch them again as yest i had to clip their wings, not yet used to being picked up, so a bit stressful for all concerned.
