Jimbob Posted November 30, 2010 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I am hoping someone can give me a bit of housing advice. I am hoping to be a new Japanese quail owner soon. I was planning on housing them in a 6'x3'x2' mesh run in the back room of a garage. If I up-ended the run and put shelves in (3' x 2') would It be suitable to house 2 or maybe 3 families of 1 cock/3 or 4 hens or would this be a bit cramped for them and lead to fighting. Now I've got to decide on either up ending the run and having 2 - 3 seperate housing areas or I could hang the run from the roof joists in the garage and put a larger family in there. As I'm just starting out with quail i'm tempted to go for the easier option and up end the run and have 1 cock and 3 hens and see how I get on with that.
