Seramas anyone got any?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Well after losing a couple of my girlies recently decided to get some newbies. Went to a local farm that had loads of different bantams not really knowing what I was going to get and came home with a little gold top (secretly wanting to hatch some eggs eventually, don't tell the hubby :liar: ) and 2 little seramas.

Since my return have read up and people have recommended not free ranging them due to them being so small and the risk of predators etc. Was wondering what other would do/do do?

Ive got a seperate run/coop they can stay in if necessary but would ideally prefer them to free range with the gang!

Hi :D I have two serama girls and a recently acquired serama cockerel  . Ahem. I think it depends on your garden and situation tbh. I do let mine free range with supervision (I'm always at home, usually working in the kitchen with the window/back door open), but I would always secure them if I was nipping out anywhere. They are very, very small, and a cat could pose a real risk. They are gorgeous little birds though, so I'm smitten :D
