fluffypigs
This is a long story and linked to another post but as I wasn't sure what this is I thought I would start a new post. A short time ago in a galaxy far far away.... Chicken III There lived a chicken called Pippin, whose poo was runny. The clever Retfords vet diagnosed a bacterial infection(proteus and Streptococcus), plus a candida (fungal) infection. Pippin was put on baytril antibiotics with no affect whatsoever, so she was then put on Amoxycilin and things started to improve. It was then discovered that Pippins crop wasn't emptying so she was given olive oil and massages, and yummylicious maggots were munched (whilst still taking the antibiotics). Her crop emptied and she went for a mooch in the garden and dd fed Pippin quite a few earthworms (big garden project in progress). This morning Pippins crop has a small lump again. More massaging and more maggot munching - lots of gurgling from her crop and some rather smelly burps! This afternoon I found a poo in the run containing 3 non-digested earthworms. Could she now have sour crop, and would this stop her digesting the earthworms?
Chucky Mama
It sounds like your massaging etc has moved the worms along before she had a chance to digest things herself perhaps. I would just keep an eye on things. If she is eating lots of earthworms make sure she is regularly wormed with Fluvenvet.
