kittyl
my dear little bantam brahma cockerel has a toe that curls under his foot. He is the last of my hatch that I am trying to rehome, he is 5 mths old now & I've hung on to him as he was much smaller than the others, but he's catching up fast. Now his brother, (that we're keeping) is getting stroppy about him coming into the coop, so I feel its time to rehome him, but I'm worried about this toe. I dont know if he's had this deformity from a chick, or if it has developed. Those feathery feet completely hide it & though I pick him up loads, I only noticed when I happened to look under his foot. It doesnt seem to affect him atall, he doesnt limp, he perches fine, but I'm worried that the claw may dig into his foot as it grows. Luckily he's a very tame, friendly fellow, easy to pick up! If anyone has had a chicken with a toe like this I'd be interested to know what they did with it, I wouldnt want to rehome him with an impending problem!
