Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

I have two black rock hens who are about 3to4 years of of age. they were wonderfull layers until they tailed off this spring. Now Wendy has stopped laying although she occasionaly sits around on her nest more in hope than expectation! But she laid a very small egg 2 weeks ago that looked about the size of a pidgeon's egg. Since then she has laid two very small thumb sized and shapped eggs the last one was the smallest with a lot of pigment. The pidgeon egg was normal except it had no yolk. She seems ok otherwise out and about digging in the garden etc. Is this just to do with her age or could there be another cause that I should worry about. A third hen, her sister Amandine, died suddenly about two months ago without warning. I just don't want that to happen again if there is something I could do.
