Loose Stool

Recommended Posts

Hello,

One of my 2 year old bantams has episodic very dark brown loose stool. She's active and healthy otherwise, appetite is excellent, no weight loss, but I am uncertain what is going on. She recently stopped molting. So...does anyone have thoughts or suggestions -- if I should intervene and if so, what should be done?

Thanks for any help you may have!

Janice

There could be any number of reasons, but to be honest if she looks happy and healthy, is eating and drinking and otherwise ok, I wouldn't worry too much.

If you haven't wormed your hens in the last three months then it might be worth catching up on that, but otherwise I would just keep an eye on her. The best indicator of health is a chicken's behaviour.
