Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Hi

 

I have a lethargic chicken, she is a heratage skyline, 20 weeks old, only had her 7 weeks, she came to us with a broken wing that seems to be on the mend. She is bottom of the pecking order and has never been that out going but the last two mornings she has taken a long while to leave the coop, she doesn't really walk around with the rest of the flock, she is eating but not as interested as usual and her bottom is starting to get a little messy, with what looks like yellow runny poo. I have put some herban in ther water and Been putting poltry spice and calcium supplements in there food to give them some extra goodness? Im worried as we lost another pullet to Illness before Christmas, she was lathargic very messy bottom and then lost alot of weight stoped eating and died,i Removed her from the flock when I noticed her messy bottom.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

 

Is there any thing I should be doing?

 

All advice on what is wrong and what I should do welcome.

just phoned vets to see if they can iorder Baycox to treat her, just incase its coccidiosis.

 

didnt know if there were any other antibiotics that did't effect their eggs?

I bought two Skylines at the beginning of last year.

One just never seem to thrive and had yellow poo like yours. The vet seemed to think it was a

liver problem. We gave her a week or so and saw no change and culled her.

If you can separate her and syringe feed if she isn't eating and hopefully it is just an infection.

aw, thats a shame, i think my previous pullet died of a liver problem, i know there isnt much you can do for that. im going to worm them all starting tomorrow, just to rule out all possibilites before i go ahead with the anitbiotics.

 

whish they could speak somtimes, poor little things.

Just seen you are in Essex. I only found out the other day that Kirsty at Hens 4 Homes, Stebbing does a consultation service for chickens, she's not a qualified vet but has lots of knowledge. Might be worth a visit if she doesn't pick up.
