debbier
I made a trip to The Gobbett, near Bridgnorth today, today, and have returned with a Salmon Faverolle and a Barnvelder, to add to my two older Cream Legbar and Marans. The set up at The Gobbett was very good, with an excellent variety of very healthy looking birds and a wide number of breeds to choose from. The owner was very helpful and informative. I'd definitely return if/when I need any more birds. My Marans doesn't lay any eggs whatsoever, and hasn't for over a year now, regardless of what food she's on and she's regularly wormed, no mites I can see etc. The Legbar is a lovely layer, and has been giving me an average of 6 a week, but when my last Omlet Miss Pepperpot died a month or so ago, it was time to get a couple more. zakjon-98
Nice breeds my barnevelder is a great layer so you should have lots of eggs hopefully! Very jealous of your faverolles- they are top of my chicken wishlist!
debbier
The barnvelder has lovely markings, doesn't she? The (salmon) faverolle looks a bit like a puffed up hamster with a cheek full of nuts, and was the one my daughter chose
