lost-sheep
i was also wondering if it was the sort of thing i could look after on my own because my mum and dad would want nothing to do with it!!! (THEY ARE CHICKEN LOVERS WHO ONLY WANT TO EAT DUCKS.... ) so i need to argue my case... something like.. "but dad they wont be tooo noisy and they wont take up much room and they would be very pretty!!" i'll keep working on it!!!... he he

Caroline
ducks are noisier than chickens.... not sure of a quiet breed. We have Indian Runners and they do quack a fair amount but then I live in the sticks and people think it's a nice country noise so I'm lucky. Call ducks are apparently called 'Call' ducks for a reason too.... my neighbour has those
daj198
I pestered my parents about Chickens. Showing them videos of battery hens and some being rescued through the BHWT did it! Hopefully we're going to get some ex-bats next month. I assume the same method is necessary to persuade parents to get ducks.... except I don't think you get battery duck farms...
