Stoat killed hens asleep in the Eglu

Hi All,

I love the new autodoor that you can connect to your wifi and mobile. However, I am facing challenges with 12V power supply and batteries:

- I have a 12V cable connected to an external 7AMP battery and solar panel

- I have 4 batteries in the autodoor

If the 12V cable is connected, the "power-saving" settings are disabled (which you usually have when it uses the internal batteries). Hence, when Sun is not great, battery depletes within a few days. Once the external battery is running low, the autodoor doesn't automatically switch to the 4 internal batteries. So door is basically defunct until the sun charges the full 7AMP again

Can I put in a feature request to

a) Figure out whether the power settings can even be enabled on 12V for this use case

b) Figure out whether its possible to use the 4 batteries as backup if the 12V stops feeding in

Thanks!

We have the same setup, 12v 6600mAh battery. Would be great to have the “smart” energy settings available in this case even if it’s powered by 12v but not connected to the net.

Has anybody cracked this? I have the same setup connected to a 1.5W trickle charger. It seems to keep the battery topped up but not sure how long it will cope with no sun. I could add another panel but not sure if that will fix the issue

Looks like the request hasn't been picked up yet by the Omlet software team..
