If you stand with your phone where you would put the auto door and still can connect to your home wifi then I'm guessing it will be fine. Otherwise you may want to get a wifi range extender. Make sure the batteries are in the correct way round and securely clicked down with the springs. Check your wifi settings in your phone to make sure it is actually connected.
