LittleLau Posted 1 hour ago Share Posted 1 hour ago Good morning. I kept chickens years ago, but as we have close neighbours, I am reluctant to do so again due to the noise. We are hoping to move in the next few years to somewhere more semirural, with the option of chickens/ducks, or if I am lucky enough to get more space (though probably not) even Pygmy goats. I love birds, but as chickens and aviary birds are off the table for now, I’ve been looking at quail, but have some questions. Are female Japanese quail as quiet as my limited research suggests? Can they be somewhat friendly with interaction? Are they hardy? Do they need any special housing provisions in winter? Any other info to help me decide greatly received. Positive and negative.
