How very frustrating to buy your feeder product and then have the doors keep closing whenever I walk away. The Bluetooth range is extremely short. The Wi-Fi won’t connect and the software the firmware will not download to my iPhone. There’s no manual setting on the doors. I don’t want my chickens to starve to death because I took a chance on your product. Can you tell me anything to solve any of these problems so I can just trust that my chickens can eat?

I took a chance on this feeder because I expected it to make things easier, not create another problem that could leave my chickens without food.

 

I’m sorry you’re having such a stressful start with it I’d be worried too if I couldn’t be sure the hens could access their feed. First thing I’d do is make sure they have a backup open feeder available while you troubleshoot, so there’s no risk of them missing meals. For the unit itself, check that the batteries are fresh/fully charged, the door mechanism isn’t catching, and that the app has Bluetooth permissions enabled on your iPhone. If Wi-Fi won’t connect, try standing right next to the feeder/router during setup and make sure it’s using a 2.4GHz network if the product requires that. If firmware won’t download, deleting/reinstalling the app and restarting the phone can sometimes clear it. If it still won’t stay open or update, I’d contact Omlet support directly with the model, phone/iOS version, and any error messages — this sounds like something they need to help resolve quickly.

I got it on the manual setting, so a press of the button in the morning to open, and in the evening to slide.  I love the design of this thing. It reminds me of the first gumdrop iMac. Just so cleverly designed, thank you for your help..
