Snowy's thin shelled eggs

Recommended Posts

My 2 year old White Star who has been laying lovely large white eggs virtually every day since I got her has started to lay very thin shelled, rough textured eggs.

She seems in the rudest of health and eats for Great Britain. After the postings about limestone flour I bought some and have been adding it to, not only their pellets but also to any treats. I have also put shellstim in the drinking water.

The rest of my little flock have shells as hard as bullets but no improvement in Swowy's.

Any suggestions welcome.

Linda

I think this is a common problem as they get older.

Aren't White Stars great? Mine has just laid for 77 day on the trot then she had a day off ,well deserved, and she is off again. We had trouble with soft shelled eggs at the beginning with her so maybe as their egg making gear starts up and slows down it doesn;t work so well.
