mcphail
Hi everyone One of our chickens has been very off colour recently- normally full of life but for the past four days has just stood in the same spot in the garden. She is still eating and her comb is still upright and red- at first I thought it was a crop problem but have tried the olive oil and the crop seems to have gone down. Her droppings are very runny with white bits in- these seem long and stringy- is this worms? Any help on what it could be would be greatly appreciated. Egluntyne
It could be worms. I would guess that if one has got them, then they all have. Why not give them a course of Flubenvet as a precaution. There is no egg withdrawal with this medication.
mcphail
"I would guess that if one has got them, then they all have." - I thought that this would be the case too but the other three seem right as rain and have normal droppings?! Egluntyne
They can carry a cargo of worms with no or few symptoms at all. The odd hen might just be more susceptible, or less tolerant of them and become ill.
