I think Maisie is having a day off from egg laying today. Having produced an egg each day for the last week, there's nothing as yet today. I presume this is pretty normal when they first start laying?

 

Yesterday however saw Daisy Rocket Ronnie produce 2 softies without a shell, so maybe she is beginning to get the idea?

Roast did this - we had a small egg, two days gap, another small egg then a days gap then three days of double soft shells. Apart from yesterday she has laid everyday since over last 5 days. I think they just have to get into the swing of it.

 

Still waiting on Alice - she has been crouching for 3 days ......so so excited

Didn't think there was owt to worry about. Have made some nice gooey porridge for the girls tea so hopefully that will encourage her to start again.

I did porrige today for mine too, quite a concoction, stale bread left over milk layers pellets bran & chicken spice, gobbled the lot. Im hoping I will will do the trick 2 of my girls started laying last week & they have days off too, the eggs are tiny

Eggs will get bigger. Roast started off with 34g then 26g She has laid beautiful eggs of on average 60g for the last 3 eggs now

They LOVED the porridge. I've never made porridge before. It was thickish and quite sticky, they seem to have got it all over them! Mixed a bit of corn in too...

I might have to do that tomorrow if the weather stays this cold. Poor things haven't had much different lately given my apathy in colder weather - mind you they love their corn in the afternoon
