Add 1 potato roughly chopped, cover with about 2 pints at a guess of vegetable stock. cook till the potato is soft. I had no dried peas so I added about half a bag of frozen one. Cook till done. I then added about a handful of bacon which I had cooked the night before. I bought a bacon hock which I covered with water and left in my slow cooker overnight. The lovely meat just fell off.
