count duckula Posted May 26, 2008 Share Posted May 26, 2008 our female call duck seam to have been sitting on her eggs for a long time we are aware the it will take about 26 days for the eggs to hatch, she will sit allday,is this normal?,and will only leave her nest when we call her off and not without covering them,she then takes a bath in the pond and will walk around miming to quack with the odd quack thrown in is this normal?, is there any way of checking her eggs to see if there is a duckling inside we have not touched the eggs as we are afraid that she will leave them hope this will make sense to someone this will be her first clutch of eggs regards jason Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tara Posted May 26, 2008 Share Posted May 26, 2008 You could candle them but l did what you have done l left well alone and soon enough there were lots of ducklings running about.I think some people say that you can hear them in the eggs.But l just left them.
